04 — PROFILE
My background and teaching philosophy
I have been involved in music for 15+ years and I am currently working as a self-employed music tutor. Previously, I have worked as a band coach for a youth project, a session musician, a music producer, and an article writer for music publications, such as Music Gateway. In 2019, I graduated with a first-class honours degree in Music Industry Practice at the Academy of Contemporary Music (ACM), Guildford.
I have an excellent understanding of music theory and how to apply it to guitar, bass guitar, piano, and drums. I also have many years of experience playing these instruments and I know how to tailor lessons to help my students progress effectively. Each session will be tailored to each individual student, which will help them to achieve their goals.
During lessons, I will help you to extend your repertoire to carefully selected and appropriately challenging pieces in a supportive environment, and develop your hand strength, stamina and reach. Examples of topics that I teach across different ability levels can be found below.
Over the years, I have been involved in many projects and I have gained invaluable experience from them. I have worked alongside several artists and bands. I have performed on many occasions with these acts and I have also been involved in the songwriting process for many of them. Examples of these acts are: Crutch For Hire (alternative rock), Deer in the Headlights (hard rock), Downtown Roundabout (Americana), Betsa (pop), and Aeron James (country).
I am available from 11:00-20:00 GMT/BST, Monday-Friday as standard. Please contact me to see if I have a suitable slot available for you.
I look forward to hearing from you and helping you to achieve your goals.

- Lesson management and scheduling are handled via Proton Calendar to streamline administrative processes.
Refund Policy
- All music lesson sales are final and are non-refundable.
- Auto-renewal payments are non-refundable for the current billing cycle. Cancellation stops future charges but does not issue a refund for the remainder of the active cycle.
- Force Majeure Exception: Refunds or rescheduling may be granted on a case-by-case basis for verified emergencies (such as serious illness, natural disasters, or other uncontrollable circumstances).
- Trial lessons follow the same payment and refund rules unless a promotional offer specifies otherwise.
Payment Options
- One-Time Purchase (OTP): Pay per individual lesson.
II. Cancellations & Rescheduling
Student Cancellations
- Students must reschedule at least 48 hours in advance to avoid forfeiting the lesson.
- No-shows and late cancellations (less than 48 hours’ notice) result in forfeiture of the full lesson fee, except in cases of force majeure (see Section VIII).
Teacher Cancellations
- If the Teacher cancels a lesson, students may reschedule the lesson.
III. Student & Parent Code of Conduct
Respect & Engagement
- Students and parents must maintain a respectful, positive, and professional learning environment.
- Students are expected to actively participate, come prepared, and follow lesson guidelines.
Parental Involvement
- Parents are welcome to observe, but frequent interruptions, coaching, or directing during lessons are discouraged.
- If needed, the Teacher may request adjustments, such as limited observation, waiting outside, or post-lesson discussions to ensure the best learning experience.
Behaviour Expectations
- Respectful Conduct: Students and parents must treat the Teacher and lesson environment with courtesy.
- Disruptive Behaviour: Any conduct deemed inappropriate, offensive, or disruptive may result in lesson termination without a refund.
Final Note
The Teacher reserves the right to terminate lessons if behaviour expectations are not met, ensuring a positive experience for all students.
IV. Legal & Parental Responsibility
Parental Responsibility
For students under 18, a Parent or Legal Guardian acknowledges the following responsibilities:
- The parent/guardian is financially responsible for all lesson fees, cancellations, and rescheduling.
- The parent/guardian understands and agrees to all terms outlined in the Terms of Service.
- The Teacher is not liable for injuries, damages, or lost items during lessons.
- The Teacher reserves the right to discontinue lessons if student behaviour is disruptive.

- Instrument-Related Injuries – Repetitive strain, hand/wrist fatigue, drumstick impact, vocal strain.
- Equipment Damage – Personal instruments, lesson equipment, or amplification devices.
- Hearing Concerns – High-volume instruments (such as drums) may cause hearing fatigue. Though the Teacher tries to use low volume instruments for drums, they are loud by nature. Hearing protection is recommended.
