Do I need to be an experienced photographer?
No. Atmos’ photography workshops are suitable for everyone from complete beginners to advanced photographers. The photography workshops are tailored to your specific needs, ensuring that the workshops are both challenging and rewarding, no matter your skill level. If you would like additional support, Atmos offers private 1:1 sessions.
What happens if the weather is bad?
Weather Forecasting: If the weather forecast for the date/time/location of a photography workshop shows heavy rain (or other variations of severe inclement weather) right through the start-to-finish window, Atmos may reschedule the photography workshop for another date.
Workshops In-Progress During Weather Changes: If a photography workshop is already in-progress and it starts raining, we will shoot for as long as it is practical — often it is just a passing shower — but if it sets in for a prolonged spell, Atmos may need to 'call it' and end the photography workshop earlier than the advertised time. Atmos’ practical method: if at least half of a photography workshop is completed, there is no reshoot or reschedule and participants will not receive a credit to put towards another photography workshop; if less than half of a photography workshop is completed, participants will receive a credit to put towards another photography workshop.
How fit do I need to be?
Each photography workshop has a fitness rating (easy, moderate, or hard) — this is shown in the 'Workshop Summary’ section found on each photography workshop booking page.
If you are unsure whether a particular photography workshop is suitable for you (or the person whom you are booking on behalf of), contact Atmos before booking and Atmos will share more information on what to expect.
Each fitness rating and accompanying description can be found below.
- Easy Access: Suitable for anyone, including conventional wheelchair users and individuals who use other types of mobility aids. Assistance may be required to push wheelchairs on some sections. Photography workshops that have an 'Easy Access' fitness rating usually involve flat walking/'wheeling' at a leisurely pace. Most people with below-average (or higher) fitness should be able to manage comfortably with (i) short walks or short periods of 'wheeling' (5-15 minutes, less than a mile) and (ii) occasional gradual gradients.
- Easy: Suitable for anyone who does not have a mobility difficulty, a specific health issue, or is not seriously unfit. Photography workshops that have an 'Easy' fitness rating usually involve flat walking at a leisurely pace. Most people with below-average (or higher) fitness should be able to manage comfortably with (i) short walks (5-15 minutes, less than a mile), (ii) occasional steps or gradual gradients, and (iii) being on their feet for the duration of a photography workshop.
- Moderate: Suitable for most people with average (or higher) fitness. Photography workshops that have a 'Moderate' fitness rating usually involve a combination of flat walking, steps, and gradients at an average walking pace. Most people with average (or higher) fitness should be able to manage comfortably with (i) short walks (5-15 minutes, less than a mile), (ii) moderate walks (15-30 minutes, approximately 1 mile), (iii) occasional steps or gradients, and (iv) being on their feet for the duration of a photography workshop.
- Hard: Suitable for most people with average (or higher) fitness. Photography workshops that have a 'Hard' fitness rating usually involve a combination of flat walking, frequent steps, and steeper gradients at an average walking pace/brisk pace. Most people with average (or higher) fitness should be able to manage comfortably with (i) short walks (5-15 minutes, less than a mile), (ii) moderate walks (15-30 minutes, approximately 1 mile), (iii) long walks (30-45 minutes, approximately 1-2 miles), (iv) frequent steps and/or steeper gradients, and (v) being on their feet for the duration of a photography workshop.
What camera and equipment do I need to bring?
Any camera will be suitable for Atmos’ photography workshops–this includes a smartphone with a built-in camera, a DSLR, a mirrorless DSLR, a film/analogue camera, and more. Atmos recommends using a DSLR or mirrorless DSLR camera (with a standard zoom lens or a telephoto lens) for the photography workshops–this offers the greatest flexibility and the option to easily review images taken during a photography workshop.
How do I get there and is travel included?
Atmos’ photography workshops take place within a specified location, and start at an undisclosed meeting point — participants/parents/legal guardians are responsible for making their own way to the meeting point. The meeting point for each photography workshop will be shared with participants/parents/legal guardians via email — at least forty-eight (48) hours in advance of the scheduled start time for a photography workshop.
Where and when possible, Atmos will choose a meeting point that is in close proximity to public transport links (such as bus stops and train stations).
If a photography workshop includes more than one location, participants are responsible for driving themselves between locations (or making alternative travel arrangements) — Atmos will always make sure that each participant knows where to travel to next.
Travel costs, congestion fees, toll fees, and parking fees are not included in the price of a photography workshop. All incurred fees to be paid by the participant/parent/legal guardian.
Can I buy a photography workshop as a gift?
Yes — each photography workshop is available as a gift voucher.
To purchase a photography workshop as a gift voucher, please send an email to info@atmos.art with the following information: (i) the name of the chosen photography workshop, (ii) the value of the chosen photography workshop, and (iii) the name of the gift voucher recipient.
Alternatively, electronic gift cards (E-Gift Cards) are also available. E-Gift Cards can be purchased and spent online on this website. On Atmos’ E-Gift Card page, you can choose a value between £10.00 and £500.00 and get an electronic gift card for that amount. To learn more about gift cards, please click here.
Still have a question?
If there is anything you cannot find an answer to, please contact Atmos by sending an email to info@atmos.art or via telephone (+447946821466).
